Throughout his life Craig has worked hard to do well at everything he has undertaken. Growing up a star athlete in Hamilton, Craig went on to Queens University where as a wide receiver he became a Canadian record holder with 63 receptions in a single season earning him the distinction of All Canadian. Upon graduating from Queen’s with Degrees in Physical Education and Psychology, Craig took an internship in Ottawa at the Athletic Conditioning Centre under renowned strength and conditioning coach Lorne Goldenberg. It was here where Craig learned how sport specific training could be applied to the general population to fight the epidemic that has become of inactivity, obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
After playing with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL, Craig returned to his hometown of Hamilton and founded Freestyle Fitness with the mission of changing the way people approach fitness as it relates to their wellness. Tired of the old school bodybuilding approach geared towards how people look, Craig set out to guide people to pay closer attention to how they feel. This functional philosophy brought about fundamental changes in the clients that would otherwise be reluctant to workout in traditional big box gyms. Still not satisfied, Craig decided to make a bigger impact in the fitness industry.
He started Momentum Fitness Club, a boutique style fitness facility aimed at providing members with a non-intimidating fitness experience. He has made it his mission to motivate others to feel great about themselves through fitness as a medium for change. Craig believes that consistent exercise can be a powerful catalyst for unbelievable changes in one’s life.
