Benefits of small group training

Finding the right fitness program for you is a key element to achieving your fitness goals. Whether your goal is to build strength, lose weight or tone your body, it’s important to find things that motivate you, inspire you, and challenge you. Small group training is one option to incorporate into your weekly fitness program that packs in a ton of benefits. It’s become increasingly more popular over the past few years because it’s an affordable, fun way for people to receive knowledge and guidance from a Fitness Coach, all while maintaining the fun energy of a group dynamic.

With small group training, there are tons of benefits that will help you achieve your fitness goals. Here are our Top 10 favourites:

  1. More personal attention

Small group training classes typically range from 8-12 people, which means that the Fitness Coach can give more personal attention to everyone in the class, compared to larger group exercises. In small group training sessions, the Coach will be able to see, correct, and encourage everyone in the class. Not to mention, you get the benefit of taking advantage of the Coach’s knowledge and expertise, and applying it to your own daily fitness program.

  1. More affordable

There’s no denying it, personal training offers our members the most personal attention and the greatest opportunity to succeed. However, you might find that small group training fits into your budget better and still gives you the attention you need. Our different packages are designed to fit what’s best for your lifestyle as well as your budget.

  1. Mixing things up

By working with one of our Fitness Coaches in class, your workouts will change and evolve as you progress. Each time that you come into class, the exercises will be different, the circuits will be different, and the intentions will be different. Best of all, the workouts can be modified for each person to become easier or more challenging. We offer different types of small group training classes to target key areas of your fitness and health. You can pick the ones that work best for you!

  1. Small group tribe

It’s like they say, those who train together, stay together! Sharing small group training workouts enhances the experience for everyone participating. When people start exercising in a group, they create relationships and friendships with other people in the group. It’s the, “we’re all in this together!” camaraderie that helps bring people together and become regular participants in group activities. Naturally, we connect with others who share similar traits and characteristics as us, and who are committed to the same interests as us.

  1. Motivation

In our small group training classes, we provide each member with a Polar heart rate monitor so that you can track your own personal progress. This can be extremely helpful and self-motivating throughout your workout. Not to mention, having someone exercising right next to you can push you a little harder and challenge you more than you might do on your own.

  1. Welcoming support

At Momentum Fitness, our goal is to make Hamilton the healthiest city in Canada. This means that we’re so excited to welcome you into our space and our community as we tackle this challenge together. Both the Coach and other members are here to help you get through the challenges of the workout and the obstacles in life by empowering you through movement.

  1. Greater focus

In a small group training class, there’s no time to let your mind wander. The energetic music, guidance from the Coach, motivation from members, the timer and the heart rate monitor will all help you gain greater focus to achieve your fitness goals.

  1. Fun

Fun? Of course it’s fun! An energetic fitness class with friends and family will keep you having fun each step of the way! Someone once said to us after a class, “You have to experience it to understand it. It’s the best part of the day.” And we couldn’t agree more!

  1. Accountability

Statistics show that when you’re involved in a program such as small group training, you’re more likely to stick to it. Just like personal training, small group training sessions keep you accountable for showing up and putting 100% effort into the workout. That sense of accountability is what will get you off the couch, into the studio, and will keep you coming back.

  1. Results

Results happen over time, not overnight. Work hard, stay consistent, and be patient. When you stick with a well-constructed program, you will get the results, and we will help you get there!
